Our story begins in 1999. Two members of a neo-metal band called Unruled (guitarist and drummer), State Of Mind/My Side' s former bass player and a couple of guys that were noobs in hardcore' s hell decided to form "Point44". The band' s line-up was composed of Vince and Chono(mercy) -vocals, Tomz -guitar, Bruno -bass and Yves -drums. We did some rehearsals made of covers and some personal compositions, but no great activity. But as the phoenix once did, the rebirth happened in 2000 when the band decides to start it all from the beginning, recruiting Ollie (ex-My Side too, now playing guitar with Bloodshot) -second guitar, Bruno giving the Bass to Piet and taking the mic. Chono decided to return to normal life, without jabs, kicks and other fury of blows. And from then, Point 44' s last breath led to the birth of the infamous spawn now called STAKE. The prophecies about the end of days and chaos on earth were true 'cause WE ARE !!! After having toured for a couple of gigs around Brussels, we decided to record our first demo CD called "Memories of Mortality". After that, we had to sacrifice our bass player on the altar of Chaos to calm down our angry bloody god who gave us a new one, more impressive (Rishi is the name), and a pretty good fuckin' show at the Mag 4 on the 28th September 2002. After some good shows, we found the good balance in the band, and we became more and more productive. We printed t-shirts, released a new demo and made a lot of contacts and fans in the hardcore and metal scene. In April 2003, we released our second demo CD, a live one, recorded at the Mag 4, with the help of Neel. Everything was fine until Augustus 2003, when one of our former singers, Vince, decided to leave the band. It was sad news, but the band had to go on. From then on, we continued to tour and to make friends and contacts. And after four years, we finally found our own style, our guideline and our band spirit !
