FEEL FREE TO POST POETRY, SHORT STORIES, PROFOUND PICTURES, OR ANYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY EXPAND, INSPIRE, OR SOOTHE THE MINDS OF OTHERS. Tricks to getting your poem read First of all, your poetry is being read--- no matter how few people have actually posted comments. So please don't let that discourage you. But to help you have a better chance to get the much sought after comment or two, here are a few tips and tricks to help. 1. Comment on someone else's work before you post your topic. Having your display image appear twice brings more attention to yourself and to your piece. And people might be more willing to give to you after perceiving you as being benevolent and giving yourself. The key word here is comment on someone elses piece "BEFORE" you post your work. You want your work to stay in the top 5 longer than the stuff you commented on. 2. Reply to those who have commented on your piece within the topic forum. This not only recycles your piece to the top, but it gives someone incentive to post a comment knowing that it will be read and responded to by the author. Furthermore, your piece will look as if twice the amount of people have commented on it making others wonder what all the fuss is about as they might then be enticed to read it for themselves. 3. INVITE OTHERS by clicking the link above or by any means you deem fit. Inviting your own friends will not only bring people in who will concentrate on your pieces of work, but will increase the size of the group causing more people to want to visit the page and comment as well. And like "Pay It Forward", those you've invited will invite and then those people will invite and so on and so forth. 4. Resurrect an old, lost poem. Comment on a poem on the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th page of the topic list. Doing this keeps people coming back to see if their poem has been read. When a poem leaves the top 5, most think its chances of getting commented on are gone and they won'..'s still a glimmer of hope, people will keep coming back to check on their poems progress which will increase this group's traffic and obviously increase the chance of your poem being read. 5. Have an interesting title. This is the first thing people see. People probably wont take serious notice of the ever-so-popular "please comment" or "I'm new here" within the title, but if the title strikes them as something they might relate to, maybe they'll take a look. Short and powerful is more effective than long and complicated. 6. Tell me other tricks. Let me know if you have any tricks of your own and I can add it to this list. Others knowing your tricks will only help by improving the group's numbers and interactivity. 7. Group PICTURES! Take a look at the group photo gallery for some inspiration and even add more photos to inspire others. Perceptual devices invoke so much in the minds of so many.
