Tunnel Records is a record label based in Hamburg, Germany home to the True Champion of Trance DJ Dean.
The TUNNEL is the city's no. 1 techno-location situated in the heard of famous redlight-area Sankt Pauli in Hamburg. That what started as cult underground party-series in the early 90's in the catacombs of St. Pauli, soon settled down directly in front of former Star-Club, the genuine Ex-Hippodrom at the GroÃe Freiheit 10 and became the most popular party-location.
After several changes of location the legendary Tunnel parties are now celebrated at the location THE FRONT, directly at the Reeperbahn 1.
Since its opening in November 1993 practically all Star-DJs have perfomed at the Tunnel started by CARL COX, WESTBAM as well as SVEN VÃTH up to STEVE MASON and many many more. TUNNEL's Resident-DJs DJ DEAN (who is currently storming the charts with his top-maxi "Play it hard"), DJ SHOKO, DJ SHANE, KRID-KID, DJ JOEKER, DJ APOLLO and D-JEAN-D have made this excessive party-sound, typical for Hamburg, known all over the region.
Further artists at TUNNEL are the live-acts X-DREAM, DAS LICHT, ACCUFACE (who is now drawing the attention to himself with his maxi TUNNEL ALLSTARS "Journey into Sound"), JFS PROJECT, OKTANE and DJ DEAN.
The Tunnel Club has also got an own label called TUNNEL RECORDS, founded in 1993. As a first step TUNNEL RECORDS was supposed to show a representative portrayal of Hamburg's Techno and Trance productions. Therefore both St. Pauli DANCE CORE compilations appeared.
As a new compilation-series the CD-series TUNNEL TRANCE FORCE had been introduced in 1997, made in co-operation with SONY MUSIC and which appears every 3 months documenting the "SOUND OF TUNNEL". The TUNNEL TRANCE FORCE CDs had started immediately with great success (each of them entered directly the Top 10 of the Media Control Sales Charts) and now there is already the TUNNEL TRANCE FORCE Vol. 25.
Also the newest release in co-operation with Sony Music Media, the compiler TUNNEL DJ NETWORX has started very successfully and it completes more first-class Techno/Trance tracks in a top-mix by DJ DEAN. DJ DEAN, known in America as "The True Champion of Trance" is now at the MCC Charts with his latest maxi "Play it hard" and video-clip.
