Dartmud is a an ALL TEXT online roleplaying game set in medieval times. For those of you who dont know MUD stands for multi-user dungeon, but not a la dungeons and dragons! We do have dragons, castles, a player-run feudal system and political system, wars (when theres more people around....), and special events like weddings, gambling/game nights, etc, run by players and auctions, special quests for new spells/items and even raids on the towns by creator-run monsters and beasts!
There are no rigidly defined castles and guilds either. Options for how you want to play your character are practically limitless. You could be a mage healer who has sworn a vow of neutrality and has to choose between their childhood friendship and what your guild feels is "right".You could be a knight for a castle defending your castles name from a independent heckler in the town square. You could be an evil mage who locks yourself away in a lonely tower working on skills to destroy the world. You could be a normal everyday person who secretly is an insanely good thief who pickpockets their "friends" when they come to visit and one day gets caught and beheaded and has their head impaled on a spike in the middle of town! OR you could be nobody at all at first and just sit in the gathering places in town and learn the social workings of Dartmud because they can be INTENSE.
I could go on about this all day so I will stop now. If you have any interest in finding out more stuff or have any questions about the coolest most realistic, detailed and intense roleplaying experience around just let me know or you can go check it out for yourself at www.dartmud.com! Its best to read the helpfiles before you just go jumping into the game but to each their own! You must register though to make progress in the game, and all that requires is to have a "non-free" email address to use during the registration process which is on www.dartmud.com. What I mean by non-free is NO yahoo, hotmail, etc... An acceptable email to use would be like the email your internet service provider gives you with your service....like blahblah@sbcglobal.net or blahblah@comcast.com or whatever.
