This group is a place where fans of Bunky Green the jazz musician, saxophonist, teacher, and all around good guy, can discuss his music and performances, as well as engage in more general discussion about music, jazz, art, life, etc...

I also hope that this will lead to more people discovering and enjoying Bunky's music. His musical voice is one of the more important ones in today's jazz scene, and yet he is widely underappreciated. I hope that this group may be a tiny step towards rectifying that.

For those of you who don't know about Bunky or his music, you can find some info out here and here, and a fairly complete discography can be found here. I suggest starting with his 1989 album on Delos entitled "Healing the Pain" and his latest, "Another Place," on Label Bleu.

I look forward to whatever conversations may develop here (though let's try to keep it civil) and 3 cheers for good music!
