Registration Opens for Prophecy 2007: From Hero to Legend Symposium!

Join us on board the Hogwarts Express, and begin the journey into an exciting new year of mystery and suspense in the wizarding world by registering for Prophecy 2007: From Hero to Legend!

Prophecy 2007 is the fourth in a series of conferences sponsored by HP Education Fanon, Inc., a non-profit organization which aims to combine fan interest and scholarly study for events that encompass all aspects of the Harry Potter phenomenon. To register for the symposium, which will be held in Toronto, Ontario, from August 2 - 5, 2007, simply apparate over to the official Prophecy 2007 website here.

.. We begin our journey by commemorating the magical time had by so many fans at HPEF's most recent event. To celebrate all the fun that was had in Las Vegas, wed like to offer a final bit of Lumos magic! For one week only, the Prophecy 2007 registration staff is offering the special discounted rate of $125 USD for basic Prophecy 2007 admission, or
.. $175 USD for admission including Welcoming and Leaving Feasts.

This rate is good until September 8, 2006, when the fee will increase to $140 (without Feasts) and $190 (with Feasts.)

What can attendees expect from Prophecy 2007? "Not only are we reflecting on the past, we are looking ahead to the future," says conference chair (aka Minister of Magic) Vishaya Naidoo. "While we eagerly await the seventh book in the series - the fulfilment of the prophecy and the answers to so many mysteries - we will also remember the past ten years of remarkable Harry Potter magic. This will be felt in many ways during Prophecy 2007, which will feature the Hall of Reflection, a unique opportunity for attendees to share their memories, insights and ideas about the past and future of Potterdom." Prophecy 2007 will also offer a wide range of programming sessions, from academic presentations to hands-on workshops, geared towards the varied interests of Potter fans. Nor would the event be complete without more light-hearted activities such as the Merlins Cup, the Decade of Enchantment Ball, and Wizard Chess.

These and many other highlights are included in registration for Prophecy 2007:

.. Admission to all formal programming sessions
.. Admission to informal programming sessions, including the Merlins Cup tournament, Wizard Chess, the Hall of Reflection, and more
.. Admission to the Common Room, Art Gallery/Library, and the Vendor Room
.. Two Continental breakfasts
.. The Welcoming and Leaving Feasts (optional at an additional cost)

Registrants can also opt to purchase tickets to additional special events. Details on these events will be announced at a later date.

"There will be literally something for everyone to enjoy," says Naidoo, from on-site movie nights, to special guest speakers and events, to relaxing with friends over a glass of Butterbeer. We can't wait to gather and share how the last ten years have turned a hero into a legend.

The symposium is open to all persons age 18 and older. Interested individuals between the ages of 14 and 18 must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian. Alternately, minors may attend Prophecy 2007 if they have a notarized, signed parental permission slip appointing a chaperon who is at least 21 years old and will also be attending the event.
