That saga that began with V now culminates in a struggle to save the world in V: The Final Battle. Sci-fi film stalwarts Marc Singer, Robert Englund and Michael Ironside head a large cast in this tense adventure that leaps from the stunning revelation of reptilian beings concealed by human masks to the birth of the first human/spaceling child to the harrowing countdown to nuclear doomsday. They came for water. And for food. And as it turned out, we were the food. But humanity bravely resisted - a struggle seen in the hit miniseries V and V: The Final Battle. Yet the war continues.
The heroic conflict comes to a surprising outcome in V: The Series. Once again, Earth is the main battleground. But now the aliens whose human guise hides their true reptilian natures are wiser. They believe the secret to their survival on Earth lies in the DNA of the newly born half-human, half-spaceling StarChild. They intend to capture her. But that's something the world's Resistance Fighters cannot allow.
1: LIBERATION DAY
The first anniversary of the day the aliens were defeated could lead to Earth's last day: alien commander Diana escapes and reunites with her fleet. The Starchild undergoes a strange metmorphosis.
2: DREADNOUGHT
Diana talks peace while readying the fearsome Triax superweapon that could reduce Los Angeles to rubble. Meanwhile, Resistance fighers activate a new weapon of their own: a captured Visitor mothership.
3: BREAKOUT
Combatants held in a Visitor work camp face the flesh-comsuming alien monster that guards the camp. Hunters of the 5-year-old Starchild are unaware she has morphed into a fully-grown woman.
4: THE DECEPTION
Don't believe your eyes, Mike Donovan. The ideal life he awakens to one morning and the news that Earth has triumphed are part of an alien holographic ruse aimed at gathering information about the Starchild.
5: THE SANCTION
The top pupil at the Visitor Youth Corps is Mike's missing son Sean. Standing in the way of his rescue are a fearsome alien... and the boy's conflicted allegiance. Meanwhile, the Starchild reunites with her mother.
6: VISITOR'S CHOICE
Tonight's entree: humans! But the humans who infiltrate a high-level Visitor conference about processing Earth's inhabitants for food are Resistors who aim to serve up a full-course banquet of destruction.
7: THE OVERLORD
She speaks the truth, but not the whole truth. A citizen who rallies the Resistance to aid a downtrodden mining community has a dangerous secret agenda. Julie faces allegations of treason.
8: THE DISSEDENT
If you're in Los Angeles, you're there for keeps. An impenetrable Visitor force field could seal off all human traffic to and from the city if Resistors aren't successful in their attempts to destroy the barrier.
9: REFLECTIONS IN TERROR
Diana creates a clone of elusive Starchild Elizabeth. But the new creation escapes and goes on a quest to find her true life force (Elizabeth) - with the Visistor's best tracker in pursuit.
10: THE CONVERSION
Move over, Diana: there's a new head lizard in town. His first order of business: a mind-control gambit aimed at turning Ham Tyler into a secret assassin who will kill Mike Donovan on command.
11: THE HERO
The Visitors increase their reign of terror, taking hostages and announcing that one each day will be killed until Donovan and others surrender. Robin falls for a heroic stranger who isn't all he seems to be.
12: THE BETRAYAL
The Resistance kidnaps a Visitor doctor to tend to friendly alien Willie - but can the doctor be trusted? Robin discovers her new lover is an alien sent to impregnate her and create a second Starchild.
13: THE RESCUE
He could court-martial her. Better yet, he could court her. The alien commander decides that marrying Diana is the best way to solidify his power... but it's a love match that has him fatally outmatched.
14: THE CHAMPION
In the aftermath of a wedding night that left the alien commander dead, Diana and Lydia put on body armor and pick up laser weapons in preparation for a ritual battle to the death.
15: THE WILDCATS
Rivals become scheming allies when Diana and Lydia learn that if the commander's murderer isn't found, Visitor law requires that all suspects be buried with him. A street gang assists the Resistance.
16: THE LITTLEST DRAGON
Inside the big war are thousands of individual wars. The new alien commander, his bodyguard and Diana all have scores to settle in this episode that also involves the defection of an alien and his pregnant wife.
17: WAR OF ILLUSIONS
He's a keyboard warrior! A teenaged computer nerd can hack into and disrupt the Visitor's sophisticated new Battlesphere system, but he insists that the resistance first rescue his father from alien captivity.
18: SECRET UNDERGROUND
The mother of all celebrations is coming to the mothership - and Diana is using that ritual alien feast as a way to exact revenge. Also coming to the ship: Resistors Mike and Julie, posing as Visitor collaborators.
19: THE RETURN
Peace is declared, but can it last? A key to the truce's success is the meeting between the alien Leader and Starchild Elizabeth. Another key: heading off the duplicitous maneuverings of bloodthirsty Diana.

Regarding a new V... Here's the whole official story...direct from Kenny...
Spurred on by the amazing success of the DVD release of V, my original four-hour
mini-series, my idea was to do a sequel that would pick up the story 20 years later.
NBC bought it, I wrote it, and after 18 months of going around and around, they
thought it would be cool to first do a remake of my original four hours.
Not my favorite idea, and after more months of discussion and negotiation, I finally
closed a deal with NBC to create a script for a remake.
I fashioned a remake story which maintains the integrity and thematic essence of my
original themes and characters while updating it to address current lifestyles and
issues facing society today.
The World War Two references have been replaced by much more recent incidents
from the dark side of humanity. This has allowed me to sustain the underlying power
of historic resonance that made the original so compelling and so well-received by
critics and audiences alike.
I delivered the remake script to NBC and after taking several months to read it, they
again stalled out. Partly because they were "worried that there was suddenly too
much episodic sci-fi coming on this fall." Somehow they don't compute that V
wouldn't be on until next year, wouldn't be constrained by the limited budget of an
episodic, is a huge Brand Name with an enormous fan base, and will be around long
after the new entries have probably faded away.
And if any of the new entries are at all successful, wouldn't that indicate a public
appetite for such shows? Warners and I can't fathom NBC's thinking, although part
of it certainly has to do with their calamitous descent to Number Four and the loss
of a billion dollars in ad revenue.
It's ironic, because NBC was at the bottom of the barrel when I did V originally.
Brandon Tartikoff told me V was one of the key programming triumphs that helped
turn the network around.
Ah, Hollywood.
The good news is that although NBC has relegated it to a back burner for now, we
have strong interest from another network, but I won't know for certain until
January.
If the remake gets made and is successful, could that lead to the sequel being done
as a follow up? ....I certainly hope so. I'm anxious to share it with you.

As yet there has been no further movement from either ABC or NBC. Warners
and Kenny are pursuing other avenues simultaneously. There will likely be no
additional word for a few months. Check back and hold good thoughts.

Here's what Kenny had to say at The Bionic Woman-KJ Legacy Convention:
"We are making progress toward getting V - The Second Generation into
production. We have enlisted the aid of Brian Jamieson, a 30 year veteran of
Warner Home Video, to help secure part of the financing for this very
ambitious and costly project. All of us are committed to making the sequel
happen and to have it be of the same high quality and artistic integrity that
people have always associated with V. We hope to have more substantive
news about the film in the near future.
"In the meantime...there is surprising progress in an unexpected direction:
there will be an opportunity for the millions of fans of V worldwide to get an
early preview of The Second Generation.
"I have nearly completed a novel based upon my screenplay.
"I'm very pleased to tell you that Warners and I are in final negotiations with
Tor Publications who will be publishing the novel in hardcover. Tor has great
enthusiasm for the book and the way it carries on the stories of many of the
original characters while also introducing some quite startling new ones.
"As with my original V, The Second Generation will hopefully be an exciting
entertainment, but also be a thoughtful look at our society and an intriguing
exploration of how ordinary people react to extraordinary circumstances -- for
better or for worse.
"The novel will go on sale in early 2007.
"And hopefully not long after we'll finally see V - The Second Generation
realized on the screen."

Update: 10/2/06
Many people are naturally wondering why getting the new V sequel made into
a book or mini-series could possibly take so long -- unfortunately it's the
nature of the business these days.
Warner's Legal Department is trying to get the complicated domestic license
deal closed on the novel and they assure me it will happen within the month.
We are also beginning to seek a sale for the foreign rights to the novel.
Warner Home Video is working diligently to help cobble together the
necessary nineteen million dollar funding for the mini-series. Hopefully in this
lifetime.

Update 10/25/06
Though the final contracts have yet to be signed between Warners and Tor
Publications, the deal for the novel of The Second Generation is now in place.
Kenny has delivered the manuscript to Tor. The plan is for novel to be
published in hardcover in mid-2007.

Kenny has delivered the final draft of the manuscript for his novel of V The Second Generation to Tor Publications. It is expected to be in bound galleys by April and is on schedule for a fall publication in hardcover.
