Jacob Santa-Cruz is an award winning artist, author, and poet from the city of Lynn Massachusetts. His first gallery shown work was displayed at Lynn Arts in the downtown area of the city in the spring of 2006; his senior year of high school. The piece shown was a juried first place work which earned him the Lynn Public Schools Student Art Award.

His artwork as well as his poetry has received much acclaim from friends and family as well as internet viewers and has been described as human but visceral, quirkily detailed, raw and unrestrained, and darkly surreal. Whether it is his non-linear line and brush work in his ink drawings, his expressive and ghostly watercolors, or his distinctly uninhibited way with words found in his numerous works of poetry, Jacob’s art has an aggressively bold approach that dares you to look long enough into its subject matter until a reflection of oneself can be found within.

Jacob is currently an Art major at Salem State College with a concentration in Graphic Design. With the proper training and motivation, he looks to bring his talents to the world of comic books. His main goal stylistically in using comic books as his artistic outlet is to combine a graphic designer’s composition sensibility with the techniques and aesthetic appeal of fine art to tell illustrated narratives. He, along with his older brother and main mentor Joshua, look to become a strong and unique creative force in the comic book industry.
