The Northwest Documentary Film Association (NDA) is a new organization formed to inspire and connect regional documentary filmmakers and all others who love the documentary format.

The NDA is also committed to expanding the traditional notion of documentary to include: new interactive media, new distribution models ie. web, podcasting etc..., and radio and photographic documentary works.

At present we hold monthly meetings and quarterly events. We will be offering workshops, mentoring opportunities, and gatherings where experiences and common concerns may be shared.

Regional filmmakers are welcome to present their work (finished or in-progress)at screenings and to gather supportive feedback in smaller NDA support networks.

Currently, there is no charge to join the group, but there may be a possibility of our taking donations at meetings and events, and/or requiring a small annual membership fee in the future. We will notify you of upcoming information about the group as it develops.


Northwest Documentary Association membership is free to all, and is an excellent way to connect with documentary filmmakers and film lovers in our area. For the most up-to-date information, please join our email membership list by emailing ndamembers@yahoo.com. That mailing list is more often tended to and is moderated by several people on the steering committee.

And, of course, join the Myspace group if you are a Myspace member yourself! The Myspace group page was formed so that the NDA Myspace community could utilize the forums and bulletins. Please do so with any ideas, brainstorm sessions, questions, equipment exchange propositions, etc......it's yours!!
