The main difference between a Film Student and a FilmMaker is not whether he/she is enrolled in a school. It's just whether or not they are all talk. There are students and makers who've never formally gone to school, and some who never leave.

Tired of overpayed has-beens telling you how to make a film, when you know that if they knew how, they'd be doing it?
Do what i did... DROP OUT!
All the "rules" of filmmaking have changed since i attended, except for the one that says there are NO RULES in filmmaking. Learn by doing, that's my motto. The best movies ever made are chosen among those that got finished!

This group is for people who want to make (or participate in making) movies but operate outside of the Industry. A place to share ideas, tricks, tips, assemble a crew or cast, ask or answer a question, give and get advice from other indie fimmakers, and help each other create art... or at least entertainment. The old system is dying and desperate to save itself, and new artists don't need to follow the same old paths. We're here to blaze new trails in the digital frontier and let the Industry try to keep up!

You don't need to be an official dropout to join. You just have to find that inner dropout and gather the strength to challenge conventional ideas to get your movie done and seen at all costs. Moviemakers of all kinds and positions welcome!

So leave your pretentious film school jargon and your union rules at the door, we're trying to make a movie in here...
