Mr. Finewine - weekly at Botanica - A world renowned DJ/collector whose findings have been compiled in a number of excellent releases over the years, and whose sets can also be heard on WFMU's Downtown Soulville every Friday from 7 to 8 p.m, can be found spinning in the flesh every Wednesday at Botanica.

Thursdays:
New York Night Train's Boogaloo Shampoo - weekly at Beauty Bar - soul proprietor Mr Jonathan Toubin fills the Beauty Bar's sleek and sexy back room floor to ceiling with bubbly 45 rpm soul, funk, and r&b classics, novelties, and obscurities to get you down all night long while Supertouchy NYC hardcore legend Marc Ryan of Foreign Islands plays punky reggae and beyond in the front room. Surprise guest DJs and 1AM happy hour.

Fridays:
Smashed! Blocked! - monthly 1st Friday of every month - Stalkers' drummer Josh Styles plays primarily awesome freakbeat party favors but also a boatload of soul and organ jams - with frequent soul community guest DJs...


Saturdays:
Subway Soul Club - monthly 3rd Saturday of every month, Fontana's: - with resident DJ Phast Phreddie/Boogaloo Omnibus, a get-down legend whose been at it since the late-1970s LA punk scene, hostess Lady Dawn, and guests DJs!

Dig Deeper - monthly 4th Saturday aof every month at Five Spot Soul Food Supper Club (459 Myrtle Ave, Ft. Greene, Brooklyn). Hosted by famous collectors Mr. Robinson and DJ Honky, on the fourth Saturday of the month, features not only soul dancing but unbelievable musical guests (thusfar Harvey Scales, Dean Parrish, Little Jesse, Tami Lynn, Don Gardner, etc.)...

Soul Clap and Dance-Off - monthly random Saturdays - New York Night Train Soul Proprietor Mr. Jonathan Toubin spins the finest in soul 45s spanning late-r&b to early funk but centering on mid-60s burners - exclusively for your dancing pleasure at this new and improved Glasslands institution. This monthly Brooklyn institution, heralded everywhere from the Village Voice "Voice Choices" to Flavorpill, features one of the city's wildest and most unusual DANCE CONTESTS at MIDNIGHT (winner gets 1/2 the door!). The event also features the lovely MC Laura Lee along with a panel of local celebrity guest judges.
