Delaware Pride and Planned Parenthood of Delaware will hold a joint benefit drag show at Baxter’s Club & Restaurant in Wilmington, on Friday, July 24, 2009, at 9:00pm.

It is called Plan’Tinis, Pride, & Pantyhose. The door cover is $5, and all proceeds from this fabulous show (including entertainers' tips) will jointly benefit the two organizations.

Entertainment will be provided by well-known local female impersonators including Anita Mann, Karyn Thomas, Deana Brandell, Maxine Chambers, and Desiree Evergreene. Also performing will be two "drag king virgins" from Planned Parenthood--Prince Harry Ola and Dr. Kitty.

Each organization will also have tables at the event to educate audience members about the organizations' missions, and there will also be a raffle with some really great prizes!

For more information about this fabulous event, please contact Delaware Pride President Eric Morrison, at ericmorrison1974@gmail.com

Delaware Pride recently announced its stellar entertainment line-up for the 13th annual Delaware Pride Festival on Saturday, September 19, at Cape Henlopen State Park (North Shores, Gordons Pond State Park) in Rehoboth Beach, from 12:00--6:00pm.

Our headliner is soulful songstress Deborah Cox. Miss Cox has achieved ten 1 hits on Billboard's dance club chart, ten U.S. Hot 100 chartings, and two 1 R & B smashes. Miss Cox's hits include "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here," "Things Just Ain't the Same," "Absolutely Not," "House is Not a Home," and "Same Script, Different Cast," a duet with Whitney Houston. Last Fall, Miss Cox released her album, "The Promise," and toured during Spring 2009 in support of it.

Singer Pamala Stanley will also entertain. Miss Stanley has scored many dance hits, and regularly appears in Rehoboth Beach.

D.C.-based singer/songwriter Tom Goss will also perform, adding Delaware to his list of national appearances.

One of Rehoboth Beach's favorite musicians, Carol Regan, will make her second festival appearance.

And last but certainly not least, the first-ever openly gay comedian, Suzanne Westenhoefer, will make a special appearance. Miss Westenhoefer has appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman," HBO, Bravo, Logo, GSN, and across the country.

The 2009 Delaware Pride Festival will be hosted by Rehoboth Beach's own Miss Mona Lotts, Show Director at The Blue Moon and cast member at Ziegfeld's in D.C. Other drag entertainers include Sue Nami, Tisha Towers, Janelle Collins, Miranda Michaels, Skyanna Blue, and Jack Daniels. There will also be a few special guest singers, including Pride Idol Season 2 winner DJ Phil. All Statewide elected officials have been invited to speak at the festival, and dozens of vendors and delicious food will be present.

There will be a meet-and-greet with Deborah Cox at The Blue Moon, from 8:00--10:00pm, and then the official Delaware Pride Festival after-party kicks off at Mass at 11:00pm. And be on the look-out for details about a special Remembrance Ceremony to be held on the beach the evening before the festival, Friday, September 18.

If you would like to be a part of planning the 2009 Delaware Pride Festival, or if you are interested in volunteering on the day of the festival, please contact Festival Committee Chairman, Scott McLaughlin, at scott@delawarepride.org.
